Hardening is used to increase strength and hardness by heating the part into
the austenitic region and holding until the entire part transforms to austenite. The part is
then cooled rapidly to form martensite following by tempering to restore ductility.
NATIONAL HEAT TREAT has two(2) car-bottom furnaces capable of open fire
processing.
