Tempering is used to reduce the hardness of a steel part and relieve residual
stresses. The part is heated to a suitable temperature and held for a specified time
(typically one hour per inch of thickness) until the desired hardness is reached.
NATIONAL HEAT TREAT has two(2) car-bottom furnaces capable of open fire
processing.
